ROSCOE — BMO Harris Bank will close its Roscoe branch in late April, the company confirmed this week as it began notifying customers.
The branch at 4844 Hononegah Road, next to Schnucks, will close on April 29. Customers are encouraged to visit the nearby branch at 1530 West Lane Road in Machesney Park, which offers drive-up and lobby services.

“Our customers are changing how they want to conduct their banking with us, and we continually assess the performance of all of our operations, including our branches, to ensure we are best positioned to meet our customers’ evolving needs,” BMO spokesperson Kathleen Szot said in an email to the Rock River Current.

The branch employs six people, most of whom are expected to find alternative employment within BMO. The company hired more than 3,400 employees throughout the country last year.
“These are difficult decisions to make,” Szot said. “We will ensure customers are able to transition smoothly to another BMO branch, and that all affected team members are treated fairly, with dignity and respect.”
