ROCKFORD — From launching monsters in the air to learning about the creatures of the night, get your spooky on for Halloween weekend with these four events in the Stateline.
Spooky Science
Get in your costume for a day of Halloween hijinks at Discovery Center Museum on Friday. Sessions run from 9:30 a.m. to noon, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. You’ll launch monsters through the air, concoct gooey glowing slime, create creepy crafts and engage in spooky science activities. All included with museum admission, but advanced registration is required.
Boo Bash
Rockford Park District’s Carlson Ice Arena and Sapora Playworld will host indoor fun for the whole family during Boo Bash, a weekend of spooktacular special events and discounted admissions. Dress up in your best family friendly costume and ice skate to themed music. A costume party with candy will also be part of each event. Carlson Ice Arena’s Boo Bash is happening from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. to 4 pm.. Sunday.
Haunted Burpee
Hang out at Burpee Museum for a night of drinks, dinos, and dead things. You’ll get to experience taxidermy demonstrations, Creatures of the Night Exploration of Bones, and a mad scientist lab. It runs from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday. General admission is $12.
Healthy Halloween
UIC Health Sciences Campus, 1601 Parkview Ave., in Rockford is hosting a Healthy Halloween event. This event is geared for kids up to fifth grade. Healthy Halloween hosts an assortment of fun, outdoor activities as a healthy way to burn off some of that energy before eating that whole bag of candy the next day. You can get in on the fun from 1 p.m. to 3 pm. on Saturday.
