ROCKFORD — It’s never too early to talk Christmas, especially when it comes to Stroll on State.
This year’s Stroll is scheduled for 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 27.
“The event classics will be back,” Dan Obert, marketing and communication manager for the Rockford Area Convention & Visitors Bureau, said on This Week in the Stateline. “The fire pits are back, ice sculptors, hot chocolate, s’mores station: The only thing that’s different in terms of traditional classics is that Santa will be mobile this year.”

There are also new additions, including three separate Christmas tree lighting ceremonies and a new location for the fireworks show.
“Prime viewing will be along the river as well as standing on State Street,” Obert said of the fireworks display.
There are several changes made for safety purposes because of ongoing concerns about the coronavirus, but “it will be mostly (back) to the traditional Stroll that we are used to,” Obert said.
