Mike Tyson to bring live show ‘Return of the Mike’ to Hard Rock Casino Rockford

ROCKFORD — Former heavyweight boxing champ Mike Tyson is coming to Hard Rock Casino Rockford for a night of storytelling and humor.

The 59-year-old former boxer’s latest live show is called “Return of the Mike,” and it’s designed to offer fans a raw look at Tyson’s experiences from battling addiction to facing mental health challenges and the lessons he’s learned along the way.

Doors for the show open at 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 9 at Hard Rock Live, 7801 E. State St.

“We’re honored to bring such a legendary and transformative figure to our stage,” said Geno Iafrate, president of Hard Rock Casino Rockford, in a news release. “The show will give our community an intimate look at one of history’s most legendary athletes in his most candid and captivating performances yet.”

The tour follows his previous show, “Undisputed Truth,” in which he discussed his early life and rise to the top of professional boxing. It is written and directed by Tyson’s wife, Kiki, and produced by Exodus Entertainment.

“After Undisputed Truth, people kept asking when I’d return, and now it’s time — no holding back, no filter,” Tyson said in a news release. “Hard Rock knows how to have a good time and bring people together for unforgettable nights, just like what we’re going to create with this show. We’re going to have some fun, tell some truths, and remind everyone that I’m still swinging hard.”

Tyson is also slated to perform at Hard Rock Live venues in Cincinnati, Ohio, Hollywood, Florida, and Atlantic City, New Jersey. He will record an upcoming special for a global streaming platform during a live performance at Hard Rock’s flagship property in Hollywood, Florida.
