ROCKFORD — A pair of historic masonry restoration experts toured the Elks Lodge No. 64 on Friday to conduct a pro bono assessment of the historic but deteriorating structure.

Bulley & Andrews Masonry Restoration is preparing a report on the condition of the roof and the masonry of the 113-year-old building. They’ll also make recommendations on potential ways to stabilize any issues. That follows up on another pro bono assessment done by Brush Architects, which had concluded the building is deteriorated but salvageable for restoration.

Owner Mark McInnis allowed us to tag along on the tour and capture images of the inside of the building, 210 W. Jefferson St.

Here’s a look inside.
