BELOIT, Wis. — Poke Green, a locally-owned restaurant that specializes in healthy customizable poke bowls, is coming to the newly renovated State Street Shoppes & Studio Apartments in downtown Beloit.
It will be the third location for Poke Green and its first in Wisconsin. The first opened at 3053 N. Perryville Road in Rockford in December 2023 and a second, called Poke Green Lite, is coming soon to the Stewart Square Building, 308 W. State St., suite 135, in downtown Rockford.
Hendricks Commercial Properties announced on Monday the restaurant plans to open at 319 State St. in the heart of downtown Beloit. An opening date is not set, but it’s expected to open later this year.
“We’re incredibly excited to introduce our unique Hawaiian-Asian-fusion flavor to downtown Beloit,” owner Jin Wu Lin said in a news release. “This being our first location in Wisconsin makes it even more special, and we’re proud to offer a fresh, healthy and flavorful option to the community. We appreciate the work that Hendricks Commercial Properties is doing in downtown and are very happy to be a part of it.”
Poke Green offers bowls that are made in under five minutes using sushi-grade salmon, tuna and other seafood, as well as fresh, mostly organic fruits and vegetables and house-made sauces.
Jin Wu Lin operates the Rockford restaurants with Michelle Lin and Yichu Yang. He said he saw an opportunity to introduce Poke Green’s fresh and healthy options to a Beloit market eager for new concepts.
“Welcoming Poke Green to downtown Beloit is an exciting opportunity,” said Scott Prudden, senior vice president of leasing at Hendricks Commercial Properties. “Their commitment to providing fresh, innovative dining to the communities they serve is exactly the kind of energy we want to foster in downtown and beyond.”
