ROCKFORD — A free community event centered on preparing to care for an aging loved one will screen the documentary “Caregiving,” followed by a discussion with a panel of experts.

Planning for Care will take place from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Nordlof Center, 118 N. Main St., in downtown. Complementary coffee and donuts will be served.

“Caregiving,” a documentary produced by Bradley Cooper, explores the challenges and triumphs of caregiving through intimate personal stories.

Following the film will be a panel discussion with Mark Podemski of Comfort Keepers, Dr. Mohammad Khandwala of the University of Illinois College of Medicine Rockford and financial advisor Tom Ptacin of Savant Wealth Management.

The event will offer insights into managing stress, grief and family dynamics, understanding health needs, and anticipating costs.
