ROCKFORD — SupplyCore, a Rockford-based supply chain integrator and small business defense and government contractor, has been awarded a 10-year contract that’s critical to keeping the U.S. Navy’s fleet ready and operational.

The company said on Tuesday that it was awarded the Maritime Acquisition Advancement Contract by the Defense Logistics Agency Maritime at Mechanicsburg, a naval depot in Pennsylvania. It’s an indefinite deliver/indefinite quantity or IDIQ contract, meaning there aren’t specific quantities or timelines for delivery over the 10-year period.

SupplyCore’s work will enable the supply of essential repair parts, equipment and services to ensure readiness for the U.S. Naval Weapon Systems Support. It will serve numerous naval platforms ranging from aircraft carriers and destroyers to submarines and unnamed vessels. Its work is designed to enable rapid response for both routine and urgent missions.

“We are honored to support the naval warfighter through the MAAC, a contract that underscores our dedication to sustaining the operational readiness of our military,” Peter Provenzano, president and CEO of SupplyCore, said in a news release. “Our team, with support and collaboration from our strong partnerships with industry-leading OEMs and distributors, will provide customers with the mission-critical items they need.”

The contract includes 10 integrated weapons systems team categories: Amphibious Systems, Carrier Operations, Common Electronics, Common Hull Mechanical and Electrical, Cruiser-Destroyer or CRUDES, Expeditionary Systems, Level I Special Operations Command, Submarine Operations, Submarine Logistics, and Unmanned and Surface Combatants.

SupplyCore was founded in 1987 and began its work with the Defense Logistics Agency a year later. It has a long history of working with the U.S. military as well as civilian agencies and allied governments with a wide variety of infrastructure supplies, special operational equipment and other parts.
