ROCKFORD — Transform Rockford will host a forum on Thursday to discuss the future of local education and Rockford Public Schools.

The free event will feature current Rockford School Board members and candidates in the April 1 election. It’s slated for 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Nordlof Center, 118 N. Main St., Rockford.

The forum will be moderated by the Rev. Edward Copeland, senior pastor of New Zion Baptist Church.

“Education is the foundation of a thriving community,” Wally Haas, executive director of Transform Rockford, said in a news release. “This forum gives residents a chance to hear directly from school leaders and candidates, ask questions, and engage in solutions that will impact students for years to come.”
