BELOIT, Wis. — Elementary school students will help Blue Collar Coffee Co. spread a little joy on Monday in honor of Random Acts of Kindness Day, an unofficial holiday now in its 30th year.
Students from Todd Elementary School have decorated coffee sleeves with encouraging messages, words of kindness and artwork designed to bring a little cheer to customers at the coffee shop, 108 W. Grand Ave., in downtown.
“Those sleeves will be handed out to customers this Monday with the hope of spreading some love and making someone’s day with a simple message,” Geronimo Hospitality Group, the parent company of Blue Collar, said in a news release.
Blue Collar is also encouraging guests to use its Pay It Forward Wall, which allows you to prepay for a drink for a friend or stranger.
You just fill out a card, add it to the downtown coffee shop’s wall and it can be redeemed for a drink. Hopefully, the shop says, it will create a chain of paying it forward.
Random Acts of Kindness Day is an unofficial holiday dating back to 1995 that’s celebrated annually on Feb. 17. The day is pushed by the Random Acts of Kindness Foundation, a small nonprofit based in Denver that works to connect people through kindness.
