ROCKFORD — The founders of a family-owned disaster restoration company in Rockford have retired after 33 years in the business.

Len and Donna Roach, who founded LDR Cleaning and Restoration in 1991, officially retired in September after spending the past few years helping the business transition to its second generation of family leadership of Heather and Dave Roach. The business announced their retirement on Tuesday.

“We’re going to miss Len and Donna’s presence,” Heather Roach, president and owner of LDR, said in a statement. “However, we look forward to hearing their stories in retirement. We wish them well as they focus their newfound time on a cause they are beyond passionate about: animal rescue.”

The company is a full-service restoration contractor offering disaster repair for both commercial and residential properties.

LDR’s specialties include water damage, fire damage, mold remediation, smoke damage, contents cleaning, storm damage repair (including hail damage), vandalism, biohazard and animal damage.
