ROCKFORD — A sales tax to support mental health initiatives is positioned to pass, Congressman Eric Sorensen declared victory for reelection and incumbent state lawmakers are set to retain three seats.

Those are some the unofficial results from Election Night tallies in Winnebago and Boone counties.

Here are results in Winnebago and Boone counties as of 1 a.m. Wednesday.

All election results are unofficial.

The official results are not certified by election officials for at least 14 days after Election Day. That is done to allow for verification of provisional ballots and to record any vote-by-mail ballots that are postmarked on or before Nov. 5.
