BELVIDERE — The Rock River Valley Blood Center and Lyfe Cannabis Dispensary are partnering for another Bleed for Weed blood donation drive this week.

The event is slated for 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the blood center’s Belvidere location, 1740 S. State St.

To encourage donation, Lyfe will offer a gift of either 1/8 of cannabis flower or a 100mg gummy as a token of appreciation.

“Every blood donation is crucial, and events like this help us engage our community in this important cause,” Lisa Entrikin, CEO of RRVBC, said in a news release. “We encourage everyone to come out, donate, and enjoy a small reward for helping save lives.”

Donors are encouraged to make an appointment as sports are limited. Visit rrvbc.org, download the myRRVBC app, or call 815-965-8751 to reserve your time.

Lyfe is a locally owned state-licensed cannabis dispensary at 6774 Troy Drive in Rockford. This is the third Bleed for Weed drive it has held in partnership with the RRVBC. The first was held in June at Lyfe in Rockford.
