New Rockford early voting site opens Monday at Rock Valley College

ROCKFORD — The Rockford Board of Election Commissioners will add a new early voting site in the city this year, now providing three places to cast your ballot before Nov. 5.

Residents can cast their ballots at Rock Valley College, 3301 N. Mulford Road, inside the Jacob Center for Science and Math, room 0208A, starting on Monday.

The city’s other early voting sites are at the Board of Elections main building, 301 S. Sixth St., and Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 412 N. Church St. The Sixth Street location is open for early voting now and both Emmanuel Episcopal and Rock Valley open Monday.

So far this year, the Rockford Board of Election Commissioners said it has mailed out 10,500 ballots and taken more than 4,000 in-person early votes.

“We encourage residents to take advantage of early voting,” Jorge Paredes, executive director of the Rockford Board of Elections Commissioners, said in a news release. “By offering multiple voting locations, we hope to make it easier for Rockford residents to get out and have their voices heard.”

▪ Monday through Friday, Oct. 28 through Nov. 1, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
▪ Saturday, Nov. 2, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
▪ Sunday, Nov. 3, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
