ROCKFORD — The Fourth of July is in the books, but another local summertime tradition is right around the corner.

The Alpine Kiwanis Club will host its 53rd Brat Days in one week.

Know before you go

This year’s event takes place over two days at two locations:

  • 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, July 12 at CherryVale Mall, 7200 Harrison Ave., Cherry Valley, and Blain’s Farm & Fleet, 7300 E. Riverside Blvd. Loves Park
  • 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, July 13 at both locations

Both locations will have walk-up, drive-thru and on-site seating with live entertainment.

Cost: A meal is $8 in advance or $10 at the event.

What’s in a meal? It comes with your choice of a Johnsonville brat, all-beef Johnsonville hot dog, meatless barbecue, or vegan brat and Mrs. Fisher’s chips and a Pepsi product.

Where to buy tickets? Advanced tickets can be purchased until Thursday, July 11 at Blain’s Farm & Fleet – both the East Riverside Boulevard and West State Street stores. They can also be bought at all Midland States Bank locations, Mrs. Fisher’s Chips, 1231 Fulton Ave., Woodman’s, 3155 McFarland Road, Rockford Community Bank, 1825 Perryville Road, Members Alliance Credit Union, 6951 Olde Creek Road and 5110 Rockrose Court, Gray’s IGA, 1630 N. Alpine Road, Habitat ReStore, 7141 Harrison Ave., and KB Chiropractic, 431 S. Phelps Ave.

Want brats for breakfast?

Take Your Brat to Work goes from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. Friday only at Blain’s Farm & Fleet. Breakfast brats are $4 each. Drive-thru only.

What does it benefit?

Each year, 100% of the proceeds from Alpine Kiwanis Brat Days go to local nonprofits and to provide scholarships to graduating high school seniors for post-secondary education or training.
