Natural Land Institute seeks volunteers for annual seed harvest

ROCKTON — The Natural Land Institute is looking for volunteers to help collect seeds from native prairie wildflowers and grasses at this year’s Fall Prairie Harvest Day.
The annual event takes place from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 9 at Nygren Wetland Preserve, 3190 W. Rockton Road. You can come and go at any time and should dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes.

The all-ages event provides a chance to learn how to identify plants in their dormant stage and how to properly collect seeds.
