ROCKFORD — A 30-minute fireworks display blasted above downtown Rockford on Tuesday as the city and the nation celebrated the Fourth of July.

The annual event is put together by the all-volunteer Rockford Fourth of July Civic Committee. It’s funded entirely by sponsors and private donations.

The firework display itself is done by Pyrotechnico, the largest fireworks show designer in North America.
