BELOIT, Wis. — Grey Collar Ventures, the venture capital arm of Hendricks Commercial Properties, announced Tuesday the launch of Beloit Kombucha (BK & Co.), an online company that touts a first of its kind powdered kombucha product.

BK & Co. products are created from the fermentation of vegetables. The company says it’s the first and only of its kind on the market. It contains a probiotic called BC30, a patented and clinically backed formula developed by Kerry Ingredients for exclusive use by Beloit Kombucha. The powder boasts the same probiotics and other health benefits as those found in a typical bottled kombucha.

Beloit Kombucha products come in individually packaged sticks that allow consumers to take the drink on the go and pour into water at their convenience.

“We’re making kombucha easier than ever to drink. Our product tastes better, has less sugar and carries the same health benefits as the traditional alternative,” Josh Sizemore, CEO of Beloit Kombucha, said in a news release. “We’re excited to bring this first of its kind product to the market and even more excited to have our roots planted in Beloit, Wisconsin.”

BK & Co. officially hit the market April 17 with its first flavor, blueberry mint. The company plans to roll out additional flavors within the next few months. The powdered kombucha can be purchased at beloitkombucha.com or on Amazon Storefront.

“It’s exciting for us to take part in growing a new brand, especially with Beloit in the name,” Erin Currier, investment manager for Grey Collar Ventures, said in a news release. “We believe the uniqueness and versatility of Beloit Kombucha really sets it apart from standard bottled options and we’re excited to see this company and product come to fruition.”
