DIXON — Raynor Garage Doors is expanding into a new facility after an onslaught of demand as families shifted money into home improvement projects during the coronavirus pandemic, the company said Tuesday.

Raynor has taken possession of a 575,000-square-foot facility at 200 E. Corporate Drive that will increase its warehouse space and manufacturing efficiency. It’s about 3 miles south of its existing facility on River Road.

“The new facility will allow us to transform our operations to meet the demands of the exceptional growth we are experiencing,” Rick Considine, president of Raynor Garage Doors, said in a news release.

The new manufacturing facility is “ideally located off Route 26 with immediate access to Interstate 88,” Considine said. The proximity to the interstate will be more convenient for the company to receive raw materials and send Raynor trucks loaded with garage door products on routes across the country.

Raynor has had its headquarters in Dixon since 1946. It manufactures a broad range of residential, commercial and industrial garage door products.

“We are so grateful to current and past generations of the Raynor ‘family’ – including our customer partners and employees – who worked so hard to build a great company and now give us the opportunity to move it forward,” said Ray Neisewander III, CEO and chairman of Raynor Worldwide.
