Maurice West to seek reelection in Rockford’s 67th District

ROCKFORD — State Rep. Maurice West II said on Sunday that he will seek reelection in the 67th District.

“Since 2019 I have focused my efforts in bringing opportunities and
progress to the west, south and southeast sides of Rockford.” West said in a news release. “I look forward to continuing those efforts in Rockford along with constituents in Loves Park, Cherry Valley, and New Milford.”

West is an ordained minister who has served as a board member for the Community Action Agency for Boone and Winnebago Counties, Rockford Areas Art Council and the Rockford Park District Foundation. He is also an award-winning music composer. He is married to his wife, Leslie, and has a 1-year-old daughter.

The primary election is slated for June 28.
