Illinois Snow Sculpting Competition returning to Sinnissippi Park in Rockford

ROCKFORD — The Illinois Snow Sculpting Competition is returning to Sinnissippi Park for its 36th year  Jan. 26-29 with the Rockford Park District.

Teams from around the state will compete for the right to represent Illinois in the U.S. National Snow Sculpting Competition in 2023, and as many as 50,000 visitors view these massive works of snow art each year.

NEW THIS YEAR: All votes cast for the people’s choice award in the state and high school divisions will be done via text and online HERE. Votes will be accepted from 8:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, Jan. 29.
ADMISSION: Admission is free, but donations are welcome.
VIEWING HOURS: Daily from sunrise until 10:30 p.m. You may drive or walk through. Sculptures will remain up in the park after the event for as long as weather conditions allow.
