ROCKFORD — Mayor Tom McNamara will serve on the board of directors for an organization that represents local governments across the state.
McNamara was one of 34 vice presidents of the Illinois Municipal League elected Saturday to a one-year term on its board of directors. He was also named to the organization’s executive committee.
Both selections were made during the organization’s annual business meeting held at the 108th Illinois Municipal League annual conference at the Hilton Chicago.
“It is a privilege to be elected to assist in advocating for the benefit of all 1,296 of Illinois’ municipalities,” McNamara said in a news release. “I look forward to working with municipal officials in improving not only my community but the whole state.”
