Labor Day Parade in Rockford canceled due to COVID-19

Rockford’s Labor Day Parade has been canceled for the second consecutive year due to concerns about COVID-19, 13 WREX reports.

Rockford United Labor, which represents more than 25,000 union members in the area, announced the cancellation on Tuesday.

The labor union said the decision was made due to a recent uptick in coronavirus cases and made in deliberation with local government officials, the Winnebago County Health Department, and the Rockford Labor Day committee.
